July 22, 2011 I got my Ring Back!!!
Last friday, I got the call that I’d been waiting for….my ring was back. It’s been gone awhile (almost 4 lonely months) but it is back and better than ever. And while I will promise to actually put decent pictures on here when I get some, I have to share my lame phone pictures because my battery on my regular, decent camera is dead and I can’t find the battery charger in the sea of boxes that line every random space inside of my home.
In case you don’t remember the previous ring, it was basically this:

I honestly couldn’t be happier. It’s perfect now, and I love it so, so much. Getting it back after the wedding was like an unexpected Christmas Gift in March– it’s a delight, and it makes you feel all glow-y and special. Yay!

What made you change it? And the battery excuse? Unacceptable. I mean, you’re married to a photographer for crissakes!

True, they are just packed (the batteries, that is, and I can’t find anything in the damn boxes. We spent an hour looking for a freaking i-pad charger. Finally found it, along with my camera charger. I guess I employed some logic in packing.
The Ring: When Don had it made he sent them my “inspiration” picture and they took some…er, liberties with it. I loved it so it didn’t matter, but then it started to have structural issues– the shaft was disentigrating, the center setting was off kilter and worsening, and then we discovered that it was cast in the wrong metal (we paid for platinum, they put it in white gold)…so back to the company that made it it went, and the owner oversaw the process, and made it into the original design Don sent.
